How Offline Data Syncing Works
Offline data syncing is a feature designed to ensure that your measurements from Bluetooth devices are not lost even when you experience network connectivity issues. Here’s how it works:
When Offline Data Syncing is Triggered
-
Bluetooth Device Sync Failure:
-
If your Bluetooth device successfully syncs but the request to save the data fails due to a network error, the offline data syncing process is triggered.
-
How Offline Data Syncing Works
-
Data Storage:
-
When the initial save request fails due to a network error, the measurement data is stored locally on your device. This ensures that your data is not lost and will be saved once the network connection is restored.
-
-
Automatic Retry:
-
The system will automatically attempt to save the measurement data once the network connection is restored. This retry mechanism works in the background to ensure a seamless user experience.
-
-
Failure Handling:
-
If the save request fails again, the system will clear the data and it will not try to save it again. This is to prevent continuous retry attempts which may lead to unnecessary battery and data usage.
-
Monitoring Sync Status
-
Sync Status Monitoring:
-
You can monitor the sync status of your devices directly from the app. The sync status provides two key pieces of information:
-
Last Successful Sync Timestamp: This tells you the last time your device successfully synced data.
-
Pending Measurements: This shows any measurements that are pending and will attempt to save once the network connection is restored.
-
-
-
Accessing Sync Status:
-
To view the sync status, navigate to the main menu and select the "Sync Status" button located at the top of the menu. This section will give you a comprehensive view of the sync activities and any pending actions.
-
By leveraging offline data syncing, you can ensure that your measurement data from Bluetooth devices is reliably saved even in the face of network connectivity challenges. This feature provides peace of mind that your important health data is always recorded and ready for use when you need it.
