When a patient reads a message inside the mobile app, the number will be automatically adjusted. If there are no unread messages, this badge (along with the number) will not be shown. Two items of note for this new feature are:
- A patient must have push notifications enabled for the mobile app to display this unread message count badge.
- Some Android phones will only display a red badge, but will not show the unread count number. This is a limitation imposed by the device manufacturer.
