CMS in 2019 created new reimbursement codes for connected care services that enable
providers to manage and coordinate patient care remotely. In 2020 they expanded this
opportunity with additional reimbursement codes. Together these codes are referred to as Remote
Patient Monitoring (RPM).
The RPM codes:
- are separate from the more restricted telehealth services
- make it easier for your clinic to build rpm programs into your current workflow, since services can now be performed by clinical staff (such as rns) as well as physicians
- help to improve patient outcomes while driving recurring revenue for your clinic
