The Digital Library now supports the ability to clone content items. This functionality can be used to clone or duplicate a a single content item, a folder and its containing content items, or disparate content items in bulk.
Steps to Clone Content Items
- Click Clone Content Button
Inside the Digital Library, click either the Clone Content button in the upper left of the clone content icon at the very right of any respective content item row listing. Generally, the Clone Content button button in the upper left is used for cloning multiple items at once, where the individual icon is for cloning the single item. - Select Items to Clone
After clicking either the Clone Content button or clone content icon, a modal dialog will open. You must first select the content to clone. If you clicked the icon, the respective piece of content will be selected by default. Clicking the Clone Content button will present no selected items by default. In both cases, you may browse the My Library section in the left hand side, and click to select any number of content items to duplicate. When selected, the content item(s) to be cloned will be shown in the right hand column labeled Selected Content. - Select Destination
The next screen is to choose where the newly-cloned content items will be placed. You may browse in the left hand column to select the folder into which the cloned items will be set. By default, the top level or My Library folder will be selected. The right hand column will display the name (which in this example is My Library) of the selected folder destination. - Set Availability
The availability type to apply to all cloned content items. This impacts which (if any) patients will have access to this content in the mobile app.
Additional Notes
Some additional notes regarding the functionality:
- Cloned content ownership
Once a content is cloned, the new item will be owned by the currently-selected clinic. For multi-tier and group clinics which have inherited content, the new cloned copies are then manageable under this new clinic. This allows the name, description, and availability settings to be edited. - Cloned content naming
When a content item is cloned, the destination may already have a content item with that same title. Similarly to copying folders or files on a computer, the newly-cloned content item will have a number appended to its name (e.g. Folder (1), Folder (2)) to prevent naming collisions. - Cloned content availability
The last step when cloning content items is to set availability (public, private, by phase), which impacts which patients have access to this content in the mobile application. Regardless of how many items are selected during that cloning process, all content items will use the selected value. If you are cloning multiple items at once, but would like to adjust specific content items' availability, you must adjust the availability after the cloning is complete. Do this by browsing the content items and adjusting each content items' availability as needed
