Starting Tuesday, April 13, 2021, messages and form fills on the provider dashboard will autosave a draft as they are being typed or completed. This feature ensures that if you accidentally leave the webpage (hit the 'back' button, close the window/tab, quit your web browser, restart your computer, etc) your progress will reappear when that message or form is accessed again.
Message Autosave
Message drafts will be automatically saved in both the patient profile message tab, and also the main Messages page linked from the left hand menu.
- Draft is Automatically Saved and Loaded
The message draft will automatically save as you type, there is no need to click a save button. If you reload/refresh the webpage, the saved draft text will automatically appear in the textbox once the page loads. Once you send the message, the draft will be deleted, as it is no longer needed. - Draft Remembers Specific Recipients
The feature will remember the specific patient or recipients to which you are typing. A draft saved for a message being typed to a particular patient will load only for the message thread to that patient. There is no limit to the number of message threads that may have a saved draft.
New Form Submission Autosave
New form submission responses will be automatically saved in both the patient profile More->Forms tab and also the Digital Library page linked from the left hand menu.
- Draft is Automatically Saved and Loaded
The form submission draft will automatically save as you complete the form, there is no need to click a save button. If you reload/refresh the webpage, the saved input and/or selections will be loaded once the page loads. Once you submit the form, the draft will be deleted, as it is no longer needed. - Draft Remembers Specific Form and Attached Patient
The feature will remember the specific combination of selected form and attached patient. To clarify, many clinics have multiple forms. The feature will automatically save the draft based on the specific form and selected (attached) patient for that form submission. There is no limit to the number of forms+assigned patient combinations that may hold a saved draft. - A "Draft Saved" Timestamp is Displayed
At the bottom of the screen for the displayed form and next to the Save button, a timestamp indicating the last saved time and date will be shown for informational purposes. The Save button will continue to submit this form submission, and is separate from the autosave draft functionality.
Draft Expiration
For both new messages and incomplete forms, an autosaved draft will be available for up to 4 days (96 hours). This expiration countdown resets each time a new draft update is saved. For example, if you being typing a message on Monday, and return on Wednesday to change or add to the message, that draft will still be available on Friday.
