For very physically fit individuals, the Balance Smart Scale may not calculate body fat and lean mass accurately. For these individuals, it is recommended athlete mode be enabled in their mobile app. In the context of the Balance Smart Scale, athlete mode is intended for professional or very high-level athletes like marathon runners or body builders. Some general guidelines for when to use athlete mode are:
- Have a history of engaging in aerobic exercise for multiple years
- Performs aerobic exercise at least four times per week
- Has at least some definition in the abdominal area
To enable athlete mode, go to the "Profile" section of the mobile app and select the "Preferences" tab. By default, athlete mode is disabled. Athlete mode can be enabled or disabled from the SCALE ATHLETE MODE setting:
